Tereza Drahoňovská and Štěpánka Jislová ceremoniously launched their autobiographical comics Bez Vlasů during the festival. The launch gladly undertook the festival founder and director Klára Vöröšová.

Roll Out the Barrels! features in eleven comic books the personal memories of specific commemorators of the end of World War II in Western Bohemia. The stories were drawn by students of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen led by Marie Kohoutová: Kateřina Buriánková, Lucie Dynterová, Katsiaryna Karolik, Lenka Košutová, Lachasso Nguyen, Ondřej Malina, Tomáš Pánek, Katarína Rybárová, Karolína Vilímovská, Tomáš Vrba, Philip Ward. The comic book scripts were written by Kristýna Plíhalová. The project was created thanks to the initiative of the Pilsen branch Memory of the Nation. Comics introduce Markéta Čekanová, director of Memory of Nation Pilsen.

Author Tereza Drahoňovská and illustrator Štěpánka Jislová will present a joint work that follows the rich tradition of autobiographical comics. Tereza never thought she’d be bald before her boyfriend. She couldn’t imagine missing the ponytail that tickled her back. And she certainly wouldn’t have thought that the neighborhood and the people on the street would show their support, thinking she was going through chemotherapy.
MÁRA ČMÁRA & MARTINA FISCHMEISTER
Illustrators Martina Fischmeister and Mára Čmára will talk about their beginnings and how they came to illustration. The duo from Prague will present their recent work, which includes, for example, a series of prints and indie comics, as well as mural art, illustrations for magazines, books and more.
The author, Tomáš Motal, introduces his comic series TRAUM in a genre drawn from sci-fi, horror, crime, noir, black comedy and satire. It takes place mainly in the territory of Eastern Europe and reflects the historical events of the post-Soviet bloc. It extends historical facts to fictional events, real and imagined characters and fantastic elements.
